APES Shelter & Rescue Refund Policy

1. Introduction

This Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all transactions, including donations, reservations, adoptions, memberships, and any other payments made through the APES Shelter & Rescue website (https://www.apesshelter.org.uk ). By completing a payment or donation on this website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out herein.


2. Nature of Payments as Gifts (Donations)

All monetary contributions ("Payments") processed through this website—whether they are donations, fees, or other charges—are legally classified as voluntary gifts ("gifts" or "donations") under UK law. These gifts are given freely without the expectation of a direct, specific, or immediate benefit, service, or product in return.

As gift donations, these Payments are non-refundable, non-redeemable, and non-reclaimable once received, in accordance with the Charitable Donations Act 2012 and applicable UK charity regulations. They are considered gifts to support the charitable activities of APES Shelter & Rescue.


3. Refund Policy and Exceptions

a. General Rule:
All Payments made via this website are non-refundable and cannot be retrieved or reversed once processed, except as provided below.

b. Exception — Admin Fee:
The only exception to this non-refundable policy relates to the administrative fee ("Admin Fee") charged in conjunction with certain transactions (e.g., reservation or adoption processing). If an Admin Fee is applicable and explicitly identified at the time of payment, a refund request for the Admin Fee may be considered under the conditions set out below.

c. Conditions for Refund of Admin Fees:

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of making the payment.
  • Requests must be sent via email to info@apesshelter.org.uk with the subject line "Refund Request."
  • The request must include transaction details (date, amount, reference number) and a clear reason for the refund.
  • Refunds will only be granted at the sole discretion of APES Shelter & Rescue after review.
  • Refunds of the Admin Fee, if approved, will be processed within 14 days of approval to the original payment method.

d. Non-Refundable Nature of Donations:
Without exception, all donations and Payments processed are considered gifts and, under UK law, cannot be exchanged, returned, or reclaimed once received. This includes payments made in error, change of mind, or dissatisfaction.


4. Legal Acknowledgement

By completing a transaction on this website, you irrevocably acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your Payment constitutes a gift to APES Shelter & Rescue and is non-refundable under UK law;
  • You waive any right to claim a refund or reimbursement;
  • The Payment may be used solely for the purpose of supporting the organization's charitable work, at its discretion;
  • The organisation reserves the right to refuse any refund requests outside the conditions specified herein.

All refund requests for the Admin Fee are subject to review and approval. No refunds will be issued for donations or payments not explicitly covered by these terms.

APES Shelter & Rescue reserves the right to amend or update this Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. The latest version will be posted on our website with the effective date indicated above. Continued use of the website after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.


This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
